most folders disappear from the gallery when the folder is empty.
so i guess if you upload all your stuff to whatever service it is that installed this folder, it will be gone.

Where did the folder come from? Did you create the folder?

When I go into my gallery I press and hold the screen then check mark the folder to delete and then confirm delete. This actually just deletes the contents of the folder not the folder it self.

To delete the folder I use My Files app to delete the folder.

no i didnt create it and i believe it came from G+ (or picasa from what ive seen on the internet, and also it has the Picasa product symbol on the pictures) cause i uploaded the pictures to my profile on G+ then a week ago the folder showed up..

if i long hold it and select it, it dosent give me the option to delete the folder or pictures inside of it..

if i go to My files and i look for the folder it isent there, also when i sync my phone to my computer and try to view hidden files its also not there...

its like the folder dosent exsist i can still view the pictures, upload them, send them, edit them etc... i just cant delete them.

the Pictures were also deleted from my phone as soon as i had uploaded them to G+...

yes ive tryed going to picasa and deleting them from picasa but that didnt do anything...

im gonig to try and remove them from my G+ account also and see if that works...ill post back if it does

also my instant upload has been turned off since i downloaded the G+ app..

and today my phone is also showing a folder called "FB Images" and it holds all of the profile pictures to all of my friends... i can delete this folder tho which is strange...

if you need more information please let me know.. when/if i find out how to fix this ill repost here

(EDIT:) alright so i went into my LOST.DIR on my phone and i found the pictures there... i deleted everything out of that folder ( not the Folder its self ) and when i went into my gallery to View to see if it had deleted them... it brings up a black triangle with a gray exclamation mark in it... i still havent been able to figure out how to delete the entire folder yet... ill post back when/if i do figure it out

now that we know its an online folder.
you will need to delete them from your service and then sync your phone with the service (not the pc).

as of right now, the photos are not deleted. you just deleted the thumbnail. once you sync the service again, they will reappear.

Try this:

Go to Settings > Apps > All > Google +

Then press the "Clear data" button.

Now when you go back to the gallery the instant upload and any photos linked in picassa will be gone.

You should also disable the syncing before doing this if you don't want them to come back again.

Even after clearing the data there may still be place holders for the images in the gallery.  To remove these and the folder called "Instant upload" delete the directory "Android>Data>com.google.android.gallery3d" or something like that.

hope that helps...

jbfoster - i have tried clearing the data and cache on my G+, also when i go to look for       ' com. Google.android.gallery3d ' i cant find it the only com.google.android thing i find is for Google maps...

settings
accounts and sync
click the associated account (probably gmail)
click picasa
.
.
.
on an semi related note.
i recommend that people put all of their contacts (at least the important ones) into their gmail and then sync it so you never need to worry about losing your contacts when you lose your phone.
this spot is also where you can sync your contacts.
but i only use gmail for my phone. i don't have to worry about mailing lists and stuff getting in my phonebook.

*disclaimer: i don't use picasa, so i do not know specifics*

you can use it. you just can't sync it. but is there an upload method that is actually just part of a sync, i do not know.
