Not that it will matter for a while.

Yeah, I feel the same way. It'll be nice when it's actually available everywhere. I don't see why sprint is making a huge fuss over being the first 4g network, when i'm pretty sure rather than just turning the few 4G towers they have, ATT and verizon and other networks are just keeping it quiet, until it's actually widespread.

Go look at the sprint 4g map! The last time I saw it, it had like 2 little specks, though it may have grown a bit since then.

HAHAHAHHAH that Sprint 4G map is pitiful!!!

But again, unless you're in a 4G city trying to do 4G stuff on a 4G phone, it doesn't matter.

and I see Atlanta is listed as 4G.  I have dumb friends on Sprint, and they don't have 4G coverage in the ATL.

Hadn't run upon this topic before, but its just as funny as it would have been if I had seen it earlier.

Perhaps most are too young to remember the Sprint "Pin Drop" commercials back around the 1984 ATT break up.  Sprint had a 40 mile stretch of digital phone cable somewhere in Texas, but were advertising all over the place that they had phone service so quiet, you could hear a pin drop over their lines.

What was halarious to those of use working the carrier systems for ATT is that, first of all, we had some really quiet analog carrier systems at the time which had a noise setting because if it got too quiet, people thought there was something wrong with their phone lines.

The second thing was that at that time, 90% of Sprint long distance service was  over lines they leased from ATT. ROFL.

I remember those pin drop commercials! Haha. Wasn't their phone number 1-800-PIN-DROP? Wow, what a blast from the past  Big Grin

you know the funny thing is about this is what they are actually calling 4G is LIES LIES LIES!  I've been reading up on it, and true "4G" are speeds that cripple Cable and DSL speeds!  The 3 technologies being use, HSDPA+, LTE, and WI-MAX are all dramatically faster than current 3G speeds, but are still 3G technologies from my understanding.  In order to go to a 4G system entire networks need overhauled.

Also one thing I've found ironic is I live in Indianapolis, IN, and Verizon has billboards all over the place for their 4GLTE network... and I get on Verizon's site just to check and find that LTE is not available in Indy yet.  Seems pointless to advertise something you can't access IMO.

I can't really say if it's a lie or not.Big Grin Anyway, regarding AT&T, an article says that AT&T brings the Samsung Galaxy Note smartphone-tablet hybrid to U.S. store shelves Feb. 19. Tech media note that the 5.3-inch screen will make people think twice about the space between the two well-known device designs.
